I plan ahead for my meals for the working week, because then I have something ready to eat when I need it and I am not tempted to buy expensive fast-food from a nearby shop! The prepared food includes protein for my meals and snacks.

I prepare my week’s food on a Sunday, making sure I check on portion sizes, based on the “size of your hand” principle. This usually means one chicken fillet, a cup of lean mince or a palm-sized piece of steak for each adult. Because the protein preparation is the most time-consuming, this is mostly what I prepare ahead of time. The carbohydrate portion is usually salad, which I prepare in the morning, or frozen vegetables which only take a few minutes.

Possible meal choices for the week might typically include two chicken, two fish and one steak dinner, plus lunches. The fish is frozen, so can easily be cooked on the day of use. I might cook 8 chicken fillets, 2 steaks and 6 hard boiled eggs. Half the chicken (4 fillets) goes in the freezer for one dinner and one lunch at the end of the week. The cooked steak and the other half of the cooked chicken fillets (4), plus the hard boiled eggs go in the fridge, assuming cooked meat is safe in the fridge for two or possibly three days. The chicken is used both for dinner and for lunch. The hard boiled eggs can be used for snacks or for breakfast.

Thursday and Friday snacks, such as hard boiled eggs can easily be prepared on Wednesday evenings.

DESIRE - The third one is wanting something so so badly. Sometimes desire waits for something to happen that will trigger it off. Allow these emotions to come in; don’t put up that defensive wall, that wall that doesn’t allow happiness to come in because you can’t bear the thought of the pain when it suddenly disappears again. Don’t allow limiting beliefs such as you don’t deserve this chance, this opportunity because you are not worth it. Get rid of those, you so are worth it, you have earned you place on this earth the same as all of the rest of us, you are no different, no better and definitely no worse than anyone else. We are defined by the choices we make, but those choices are ours and within our control to change. We all have the desire to do this. You have to want this change for you and no-one else or because society thinks you should live or do something a certain way. If you feel your life has no direction or purpose, look around for someone who needs a little help, a little support, there is always someone needing your help and kindness. There is a purpose, there is a way of giving back to others.

In your life it is important to be healthy and strong. Having a high fiber diet leads to staying healthy and being strong. 1. Drink plenty of water. It is suggested that we consume 8-10 glasses per day. This includes water that we get from foods and other drinks that we have. A good tip is to drink a glass before eating. Sometimes we are not actually hungry but are dehydrated.

2. We all know that eating fresh fruits daily is advised. But did you know that it is best to eat them in between meals or before meals. If you eat them directly after a meal your body will store it away as unused energy.
